Our 9th Green Flag

I am thrilled and immensely proud to announce that we have just been awarded our NINTH GREEN FLAG. We are one of only a small number of schools in the country to be able to boast such a feat.

The focus of the work leading to the awarding of this flag was Global Citizenship – Marine Environment. The Green Schools Committee would like to thank all the pupils, parents and teachers for their support of Green Schools. I would like to congratulate Ms. Kelly, Ms. Beary and the Green Schools Committee on this fantastic achievement.

On Tuesday 21st May Ms. Kelly, our Green Schools co-ordinator, Evelyn Kelly a parent representative on our Green Schools committee and two pupil members; Emma Flood and Olivia Kluczynska travelled to the National Green Schools’ Award Ceremony in the Helix, U.C.D., Dublin to collect our 9th Green Flag. See photogrphs of the day below.

I would like to congratulate our fabulous Green Schools Committee on such a remarkable achievement. There are not many schools in the country that can boast having nine green flags. We are so very fortunate to have an outstanding committee, as well as an extremely supportive whole-school community. Well done everyone! We plan to hold a Day of Celebration in the school on Friday 21st June, at which our Green Flag will be raised.
