This year Active Schools Week took place from the 30th of May to the 3rd of June. The active schools committee did not fail to succeed in making it a wonderful and enjoyable week for everyone.
We started off the week with football. We learned a lot of new skills and had a huge amount of fun. During football we did lots of races, they were lots of fun and got our blood pumping. We were so lucky to have Dawn and Carol to help us.
Tuesday was even more exciting as it was the younger classes' sports day and we had our cross country race. The juniors looked like they were enjoying themselves and we were blessed with the weather.
Wednesday was brilliant as our sports day took place. We played lots of amazing games such as orienteering, races, badminton, rounders, obstacle courses and hockey. I enjoyed all of the games and had a fantastic day.
Tennis was on Thursday and everyone loved it, we learned a lot of skills such as, how to hold the racket, how to swing the racket and how to move your feet on the tennis court. We were so lucky to have Mary and Maura to help us.
We finished our Active Schools Week on Friday with the football blitz. Unfortunately I couldn't be there but I heard it was a fantastic blitz and I'm sure everyone played brilliantly.
Overall it was an amazing week and I loved doing everything. I am very sad that I won't have another sports day in Bunscoil Bhríde.
